Fashion Freak

As some of you know, the middle school dress code is pretty strict. I mean, unless you don't want to be talked to by the teachers. So most people (mostly girls) ask for clothes for Christmas. Well, I got really cute outfits and I'm starting to feel excited about going back to school.

I thought about how my taste in clothes has changed over the years. From the crazy rainbow tights in kindergarden to the knee-high Converse in 6th grade. Even from the beginning of the year, my style has slightly changed. More Aeropostle or just a nice t-shirt with a scarf.

I kind of wonder how the fashion code will be by high school and college. I get dropped off every day at school. The high schoolers walk right by the 6th grade doors. I have noticed that their fashions are slightly different than the middle schoolers'. Some of the boys have stupidly decided to wear shorts or no jacket in freezing weather. Most of the girls have more common sense and wear a jacket with skinny jeans.

But really, if you like your style right now and you're afraid what other people think about it, just say to yourself, "Who cares?" The people you're afraid of ditching you because of your outfit are probably too worried about thinking about what they look like. Trust me, wear it and share it.

Snow Day!!!!! :-)

Today in A-Town, we had a snow day. Which means every one is home, so I had to leave. I spent the day with a friend. We sledded down snow banks, made a lying down snowman (because there was no good packing snow), and drank hot cocoa.

And to end the exciting day, I sat behind the tree. I love getting our Christmas tree. Sometimes I sit behind it and think, do homework, or read an adventurous book.

The only downer would have to be if there is no school, there is no after school activities, counting concerts. I had a band and chorus concert tonight. All of the rehersals we did add up to a whopping 12 hours. :-(

Another thing that happened was my cousin called this morning and they didn't have a snow day. Usually, my cousin is the one to rub things in my face, but it was my turn. So I casually said, "Have a good day in school."

Don't forget to put a spoon under your pillow, wear your P.J.'s backwards, and put ice cubes in the toilet, because I want another snow day tomorrow. Don't you?

Spotlight Star?

When I was in 4th grade, I was in the high school musical, The Music Man. I was picked, but I didn't play my part. But that's a different story. I was also selected to be Rex in Toy Story in our4th grade play. But now the middle school auditions are creeping around for the musical, Cinderella. I am not so sure about being picked for the cast.

This is how it works: About 60-100 kids audition for the play or, in this case, a musical. You go in, dance, sing, and act in front of judges. Then, on Saturday, they go home and spend 4-8 hours casting the cast. Only about 40-50 kids get cast. They take the auditions on film. So you're really performing for judges (one of them happens to be my chorus teacher), a camera (who knows who will end up seeing that?), and everyone who's there.

On Monday, they post the cast on my chorus teacher's door. I am really afraid that one of my friends might not get into the play but I will, or the other way around. I am trying out for the Stepmother. Since I am a nervous wreck, I have memorized all of my lines for the audition. If anyone has any advice, please tell me.

Undefeated to defeated to determined: Part 2

I called my cousin last night and I told her I had seen Joe. But of course she already knew, since he had texted her.

Last night while I was lying in bed, I decided to try to practice every night--just a little bit, though. If I practiced every day for an hour, my schedule would be a lot more crazy than it already is.

We, the quiz team, have practices every Sunday, except for the day after the meet. We read, memorize, and quote.

Undefeated to defeated to determined

Sadly, today around 3:30, the B team beat the A team. Today was another quiz meet. On the 15th question of the quiz, B scored and so they won. :-(

But that's OK because we creamed them in the past two months. We, the A team, will come back at them in January. I only really know one of the B team members, Joseph, my cousin's classmate. Oh, yeah, I have heard a lot about Joe.

One of my rivals would have to be John. He's an interesting bird... John is a very good quizzer. He got 1st place in the individual competition. He intimidates me and, well... everyone. But I guess you could call that a good thing for him. Not me. If someone pulls my string, let's just say it will not have a good ending.
