Christmas Season

"SNOW!!!!!" my best friend yells yesterday at 11:00 at night.
"Shut up SB! Were getting to the good part!" MB (SB's older sister) yelled as her eyes were glued to the TV.
Maybe we will have snow this Christmas I thought. Well I guess not because it was gone the next day. Sigh. Stupid global warming. I really want a snowy Christmas.
It's the week before Christmas break. Everyone is doing their last minute shopping. Going to Christmas parties. In school, studying for Unit tests. This year I'm just not feeling the Christmas Spirit. Could it be because it's not snowing? When I was a kid i would write my letter to Santa super early. I was totally into it. But not so much this year.
I just hopes it snows and some Christmas Spirit comes my way.

The dreaded alarm clock

The most annoying noise comes from the alarm clock at 6:15 in the morning. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I hate that sound more than ever. So I hit the snooze button after the first two beeps. Sigh, I want to crawl under the covers and go to sleep. Instead, I get up and drag myself downstairs to find something quick to eat. Scanning the kitchen for something I find a poptart and scarf it down. I go back up the stairs and straighten my hair, put in my contacts, and find a cute outfit to wear. Then, I go back downstairs and put on shoes and my soccer stuff and I'm out the door. A nine hour school day lays ahead of me.

A Fresh Slate

Well, it's that time of year: Back to school. Personally, I think that starting the school year is like starting an entire new year. I mean, you can change your hair, change your style in clothing, change your personality, but most of all you can just have a fresh start.

Seventh grade is going to certainly be busy. I'll be doing sports all year long, soccer (that starts on the first day of school), indoor soccer (in the winter), and track and feild (during the spring). On top of all that, I am trying out for both musicals, The Legend of the Sleepy Hallow and Annie. I am also taking Latin as a foreign language.

Summer is fun for the first two months, but by the first week of August I just want to get back in the routine. I miss the happenings, my friends, the lunch drama (sort of), the musicals, sports, and just seeing people.

This year I decided to start with a different look and personality. In fact, I just made friends with my old enemy. Right now I have my first day of school outfit ready in the closet. Plus, all of my school supplies labeled and tucked away in my backpack.

Here's to a great new year!

A whole universe away

Yesterday I thought to myself about how junior high is so different from life. I mean, well, I guess there are a few things similar about them, but not many.

All of you adults out there are lucky you don't spend eleven hours in school almost every day. School is seven and a half, play practice is three and a half. Then you have to get homework done, quizzes, projects, be on time for class, and permission slips signed. But more importantly you have to know who likes who, or she said this about her, hit music, and GOSSIP. Gossip is the only thing the preps talk about.... good grief. I'm not all into the whole gossip thing, but I do like to know what's happening in the school.

In fact, the thing the whole school's buzzing about is the Valentines Day dance. Which is a good idea as a fund raiser, but it's all going to end up into a drama war. And it's already started. Perfect.... I really was looking forward to the dance. I'm still going, my friends and I are going to have a blast. Like I said, junior high is a whole universe away.
