Harry Hopes Put on Hold

I tried to go to the new Harry Potter movie last night, and it was sold out! I was driving with my dad there, all dressed up in one of my Hogwarts robes, a white shirt and Gryffindor tie, white shirt and black pants. I had dyed my hair red to look like Ginny Weasley, and my dad came along as Hagrid.

It was about a 45-minute drive to the movie theater. We wished we could take a flying car or wave a wand and get there faster. The excitement filled the car. My dad told me I should get a little rest before we got there. I mean, it was a midnight movie!

So, after all the rejoicing and chattering, we finally got there. We walked through all the cars in the parking lot. My dad said it did not look good that there were so many. I had a bad feeling about this. We finally got to the door and opened it. We walked up to the ticket booth. The guy behind the counter looked at us and said, “Sorry, we’re sold out.” I was so mad, after waiting in the car for 45 minutes, trying to stay awake for the midnight movie.

But we stopped at Tim Horton’s because we each had to use the bathroom. And we both got sandwiches. While we were eating, my dad tried to cheer me up with some jokes. Once we finished our sandwiches, we went out to the car to the long journey home. We sank back in our chairs with disappointment. And we drove alllllll the way back home.

By the time we got back, it was 1 in the morning. So I changed into my pajamas and stumbled into bed, hoping that I’d have a dream about Harry Potter the 6th.

We’ll try to see the movie again today or tomorrow or the next day. It better be good!
